An Authentic Taste of the Uzbek at OSH
By Jaz Grewal
Bringing the traditional culinary tastes of central Asia to the heart of Knightsbridge, OSH brings together ethnic flavours with a modern twist into a unique contemporary restaurant & bar concept.
Taking a privileged location in a three-storey townhouse against the fashionable backdrop of Beauchamp Place, OSH comprises a voguish lounge area for pre or post-dinner cocktails, chic market restaurant and an intimate invitation-only bar on the top floor.
Having quickly become established as a hotspot on London’s dining scene, the concept sees a resident DJ play on Friday and Saturday evenings attracting a stylish crowd of like-minded guests for an all-night experience.
Offering a refined take on Uzbek Gastronomy, OSH intertwines age-old dishes with new-style Central Asian cuisine for both lunch and dinner.
Centred around Uzbek Grill dishes, the menu draws inspiration from east and west transporting diners on a culinary voyage and features a variety of specialities ranging from salads, shashlik to meat & fish.
Signature dishes include the Lamb Samsa and the restaurant’s favoured Uzbek Osh, a dish of melt-in-the-mouth slow-cooked lamb served with peppers, chickpeas, rice an achichuk salad and a spicy cha salad perfect for sharing.
Other highlights of the menu are the flavoursome soup and OSH’s Uzbek Tomato Carpaccio which is complemented by fresh goat’s cheese.
Showcasing fresh fruit and vegetables, the restaurant overlooks OSH’s market, a selection of fresh organic produce sourced directly from Uzbekistan on a weekly basis adding another dimension to the menu.
Alongside the bar & restaurant sits a private dining room for events and large group dining, as well as an exclusive speakeasy styled area, focused on rare drinks in a setting that exudes old-school glamour with its sophisticated design and relaxed lounge-bar aesthetics.
