Alopecia areata is a common autoimmune disorder that often results in unpredictable hair loss. The condition can affect anyone regardless of age and gender, though most cases occur before the age of 30. The condition affects 0.1%–0.2% of the population.
Zuka Kakutashvili, an author of the idea, implemented the “Power of Alopecia” project in collaboration with the BOO JEWELLERY, the famous designer brand of handcrafted silver accessories. Using the art of photography and fashion the “Power of Alopecia” project attracts attention to the important social cause and conveys the message: “We are more even if our hair is less!”
Salome Sokhadze, the heroine of the project, has Alopecia since childhood. She has passed through a long and difficult way in her life and learned a lot from it. Salome became more powerful and realized that our appearance doesn’t determine our life.
“For me Alopecia is power and because of that I decided to support all people all over the world who has no hair,”- Salome says.
