DOWNSTREAM TO KINSHASA a film by Dieudo Hamadi

DOWNSTREAM TO KINSHASA (EN ROUTE POUR LE MILLIARD) by Dieudo Hamadi, in Official Selection Cannes 2020, the first film from the Democratic Republic of the Congo to be selected in Official Selection Cannes.

For two decades, the victims of the Six-Day War in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been fighting in Kisangani for the recognition of this bloody conflict and demanding compensation. Tired of unsuccessful pleas, they have finally decided to voice their claims in Kinshasa, after a long journey down the Congo River.

Hamadi’s previous feature films have all been selected in festivals around the world (TIFF, Panorama in Berlin), as well as his short films.

DOWNSTREAM TO KINSHASA will be presented at the Marché du Film Online, and Dieudo Hamadi will be in discussion with journalist Claire Diao for the 2020 Doc Day Online.
